What Makes APIS Different

... and why you should work with us.

What APIS does, how we do it, and why we do itThere are 5 key reasons to work with APIS:

  1. Our Project Blueprint Process
  2. User Experience Design Methodology
  3. Our Market Focus
  4. Our Belief in Simplification
  5. Results-Driven Approach

1. Our Project Blueprint Process

Our comprehensive research and planning approach

This is where your project gets defined. We call this Project Blueprinting, and nobody does it quite like we do. This can be a relatively quick and painless process, or it can be very involved, and take weeks (or months) of effort. It all depends on what you’re setting out to accomplish.

During this phase we establish your goals, determine the project requirements, and build our plan. The more attention spent during this phase, the better the rest of the project runs, and the happier you (and we) are.

2. User Experience Design Methodology

Solving problems from the perspective of the end user.

Most agencies will design from the inside out, using their own and their client's assumptions. We prefer to design from the outside in. We let the actual consumers of the communications speak their voice, and tell us what they need. This means fewer assumptions, greater simplicity, and an ultimately far more effective product.

This methodology fits hand in glove with our Project Blueprint process. It can be very low-tech, which is refreshing for all parties involved, and slightly ironic given how technologically sophisticated most things we do are.

3. Our Market Focus

We serve the largely under-served mid-market company.

The right-fit clients for APIS are typically what we classify as 'mid-market' organizations. See if any of this sounds familiar:

  • You are a company with a high level of sophistication when it comes to your own business and its processes.
  • This same level of sophistication can be somewhat lacking, however, when it comes to your communications and marketing efforts.
  • You've had an intranet project on the backburner for 18 months now.
  • You have someone in your organization whose title is Director of {blank} and Marketing.
  • You have no interest in phoning up an uber-expensive, large scale ad agency.
  • Most of your communications happens online (e.g. marketing, staff communication, PR, etc.) but you still have need of some of the more traditional things (e.g. business cards, brochures, magazine ads, etc.).

If this is starting to sound like you, congratulations - you're a mid-market organization. And APIS can help.

4. Our Belief in Simplification

Simple is easier than complex.

This drive for simplicity is carried through not only the work we do, but the relationships we create. We constantly strive to make our websites, ads, press releases, and mobile applications simpler. Where others add things in, we take things out. Where others add layers of features and functionality, we strip away the unnecessary.

We want our relationships with our clients to be simple - a single vendor for all your communication needs. We want your relationships with your customers to be simple - they receive an exceptional, positive experience from you at every turn.

5. Results-Driven Approach

At the end of the day, you're in business to make money.

Or at least, you're in business to achieve some sort of corporate objective. If your communications efforts don't help you do this, why are you using them? At APIS, we hold all communications 'tactics' accountable. If they're not fundamentally helping achieve your objectives, then they're gone. They're either modified or abandoned, and replaced with more effective tactics.
